Dating without swiping: how does Noodle work?
Explore dating without swiping on Noodle: first messages, shared answers, private photo reveals and discovering people with World.
Why try dating without swiping?
A photo can decide what happens next in seconds on a swipe-based interface. Noodle starts with something else: a personal introduction, interests and a conversation. The aim is to leave room for personality before revealing private photos. It does not guarantee a successful relationship. Both people remain free to continue or end an exchange.
How to get started on Noodle
Create an account, complete your profile and set your dating preferences. A personal introduction gives someone a starting point: an activity you enjoy, a book or a travel plan. Noodle introduces up to three people a day from available profiles. Send a conversation request to someone you would like to know; the conversation opens when they accept. Noodle is for adults aged 18 and over and is free for private members.
Shared answers, not a prediction of love
The correspondence percentage compares questionnaire answers and gives every criterion equal importance. Missing or undecided answers are excluded. At least five criteria must be comparable before a percentage appears. The number describes similar answers, not the future quality of a relationship. Preferred ages, genders and distance are separate filters.
Conversation before private photos
You choose when to request a reveal. Once both people agree, the private gallery becomes available on the other person’s profile. You do not have to agree just to keep talking. This applies to the private gallery: a Daily Life post you choose to make public is a separate public share. Always check a post’s visibility before publishing it.
World: explore beyond your own area
World offers a map for discovering people in different parts of the world. It is another starting point for a conversation, alongside daily introductions. Available profiles depend on where members are and on their preferences. Public locations for private members are approximate. If you update your location while travelling, consider what your update reveals about your trip.
A first message with room for a reply
Start with something you actually read in the profile. Rather than a list of general questions, choose a simple subject: ‘You enjoy walks: forest paths or the coast?’ or ‘Which film made you want to talk about it recently?’. Give the other person time to reply and respect a lack of response. Do not send money or sensitive documents to someone you met online. Blocking and reporting are available for unwanted exchanges.
Use Noodle on your phone or computer
The web version works in browsers on iPhone, Android phones and computers. From Safari on iPhone or Chrome on Android, you can install Noodle directly on your home screen and open it in its own app window. No external file is required.
